Sun West’s Satellite Cell on Light Truck (SAT COLT), is a mobile cell site that connects to the carrier’s network via a satellite link when a backhaul link is absent or has been disrupted.  These vehicles have a patented fold over antenna mounting system that allows the antennas and Mil-Spec coax to stay permanently connected, drastically speeding deployment time.  While these COLTS can be connected to commercial power, they don’t have to rely on commercial power availability since they have on-board generators. This makes them preferable in disaster situations where utility power may be unavailable.
